چکیده

Present history? In April 1930, having become alarmed and obtaining no relief from local treatment at Dakor, the patient came to Benares. Here he consulted some local vaids, hakeems and doctors, and he was told that he would not live for more than ten days. Finally, I too was consulted and advised Novasurol injections. At the time of my examination the heart was already markedly affected. The abdomen was tense and globular, and the girth of the abdomen was 39 inches; the calves were 13 inches. The liver was enlarged four fingerbreadths below the costal margin. (It was not palpable on account of the dropsy and could only be palpated after the dropsy had disappeared). The scrotum was the size of a large-sized football, tense and shining, and the penis like an inflated bicycle tube. Pitting on pressure was present.
